Rockyford is fortunate to be able to offer schooling options for our children. There is a new public school south of Standard where the children are bussed. This school offers all the latest educational tools which enables our children to have access to the finest education while still maintaining that small community closeness. In addition to the public school, our children have access to the separate school in Strathmore. The Christ the Redeemer system offers a bus which picks children up and returns them to the Catholic Church in Rockyford. Both provide excellent education opportunities for our youth and an environment to learn and grow.

The Village of Rockyford was first settled in 1913 and takes its name from a "rocky ford" that crossed Serviceberry Creek a half mile south of the village and was incorporated as a village in March 1919. More information about the history can be obtained from the Rockyford history book called "Where We Crossed the Creek and Settled."
